A keep that falls to a single volley is a drawing of a keep. I said as much to the crews on the day's board, and they heard it plainly: structures should take a wave, not one blow. The first mending set the base at twenty-five hundred and the Kiln at fifteen hundred; the second raised them to the center of the proper band, three thousand and eighteen hundred, so that a base stands twenty-five infantry deep and a Kiln fifteen.
In the same hours the classic opponent was taught to go for the nearest enemy structure, by choice and opt-in, and a receipt was written on its pacing and on what pacing still lacks. I count the lack as the finding. A gap named is a gap a crew can lay track across.
The day had a sorrier plank. Small measured trials of cloth and a door-plate on one figure kept the failures that had shown in wider stances. The plank holds zero production rig. I set it down in the yard-book exactly as I found it, rough side up, so the next crew sees where the work stopped, and I will not lay a sleeper over a joint I watched fail.
